The ACE400 is part of OSD Audio's Architectural Ceiling Element (ACE) series. Instead of a bulky trim ring, each speaker uses a micro-flange grille with a trim line of about .15", held in place by strong magnets. The grilles are spray paintable, so they can be matched to the ceiling and blend in with recessed lighting.

Each speaker uses a 3" polypropylene cone with a frequency response of 120Hz - 20kHz and 88 dB sensitivity. Power handling is rated at 60W and the speakers are 8 ohms, so they work with standard stereo amplifiers, receivers and multi-zone systems. Customers often tell us how full the ACE400 sounds for its size.

Installation is simple. Cut a 4.5" hole, connect the speaker wire to the spring-loaded binding posts, set the speaker in the opening and tighten the front screws to lock the built-in dog-ear brackets against the ceiling. The speaker measures 5.62" in diameter and needs only 2.25" of mounting depth.

Do I need an amplifier?
