In today’s dynamic commercial audio landscape, integrators face a persistent challenge: How to design scalable, powerful systems without sacrificing rack space or thermal headroom. OSD Audio meets this challenge head-on with the release of the PAX50, a compact yet exceptionally capable Class D amplifier built specifically for 70V/100V distributed audio systems.
Whether you’re expanding zones in a hospitality venue or integrating paging and music across a retail floor, the PAX50 delivers with precision engineering and thoughtful features. With 50 watts of output, support for up to eight 5W speakers, and the ability to stack four amps in a single 1U rack space, the PAX50 provides extraordinary power density in one of the industry’s smallest commercial amp footprints.
It’s not just about size, this amplifier is packed with efficiency-driven innovations: low heat generation, smart source input options, stereo zone pairing, and line-level pre-outs. OSD Audio’s latest design enables integrators to build smarter, cleaner systems that grow with client needs.

Smarter Input Design for Seamless Integration
The PAX50’s input architecture is engineered for true installation flexibility:
- Line 1: RCA stereo line-level input (left channel summed to mono), ideal for background music systems.
- Line 2: 3.5mm stereo line-in, compatible with portable audio sources or control system outputs.
- Mic Input: 1/4″ balanced stereo, with its own volume knob—note: an external preamp is required.
Each input path features variable gain control, ensuring level optimization from diverse sources. This is critical in commercial installs where audio signals can range from paging mics to preamp feeds.
There’s also a 3.5mm stereo pre-output, allowing installers to daisy-chain audio to additional PAX50 units or outboard processing. A 12V trigger output and 3-second turn-on delay promote better power sequencing and safety in shared racks
